Quality has become a symbol of excellence and creativity in all educational, service
and industrial institutions, so the University of Karbala was interested in applying
comprehensive quality standards to reach international accreditation and to obtain a
distinguished position among advanced international universities, as it topped a
distinguished position among Iraqi universities and a distinguished position among
Arab and international universities. The Department of Quality Assurance and
University Performance, as well as the Quality Assurance divisions in all colleges,
seek to continuously improve their work and establish the principles of quality
assurance among all members through self-evaluation practices in accordance with
national and international standards, as well as evaluating the performance of
teaching staff and employees and evaluating institutional performance in accordance
with national classification standards in order to obtain programmatic and
institutional accreditation.

The Message of the Department

Commitment to implementing the quality management system in accordance with
the requirements of comprehensive quality systems by motivating and directing
employees to carry out their responsibilities to achieve quality goals in a way that
ensures the efficiency of the performance with continuous development and
improvement.The policy of quality must be understood by all levels of the university
and it must be reviewed and followed up periodically to ensure its suitability and
conformity to work.

The Aims of the Department

1. Excellence in university performance and continuous development and
improvement of the educational process to advance its goals and reach the
international standards of quality.
2. Making the most of all the capabilities and resources of the university, with
the participation of all the employees in the university, to meet the needs of
society and the requirements of the labour market.
3. Spreading the culture and the concepts of quality among faculty members,
students, and employees in the university.
4. Directing the educational process at the university towards using modern
means and methods to raise the level of the educational process.
