The delegation of the resident team assigned by the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq visited the College of Medicine, University of Karbala, headed by Professor Dr. Muhammad Abd Kazem from the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, and the accompanying delegation of members of the resident team, which includes professors from colleges of medicine from various universities in Iraq, including the universities of Baghdad. Basra, Ibn Sina, Dhi Qar, Al-Qadisiyah, Jaber bin Hayyan, and Al-Kafeel.
They were received by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Riyad Dhihoud Al-Zubaidi, Professor Dr. Muhammad Nimah Ahmed Al-Ghanimi, Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department at the University Presidency, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, M.D. Bashir Aqeel Al-Ali, and the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ali Abdel Reda Abu Tahin, and gentlemen members of the teaching staff at the college.
It is noteworthy that the purpose of the visit is to obtain full academic accreditation for the College of Medicine, University of Karbala.
The visit, which lasted for several days, included a field tour through the corridors of the college deanship, its departments, branches, and laboratories, viewing and reviewing documents and files, in addition to examining the study halls of the college’s students, and meeting with the students and the teaching and administrative staff in the college. It also included a team visit to Teaching hospitals in Karbala and learning about the available health and training services, as well as learning about the mechanisms of joint cooperation between the College of Medicine, University of Karbala and the Holy Karbala Health Department.
